Job Opportunities - Multiple Positions

SUPERINTENDENT / PROJECT MANAGER - Salary Negotiable

Posted: September 30, 2026

You know how to solve problems, and you know how to get a job done.

When plans change or site conditions throw you a curveball, you can assess the situation, make a decision, and keep your crew moving.

J & E Enterprises Limited is looking for an experienced Superintendent / Project Manager to manage a small crew on construction projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. One week, you could be repairing a wharf; the next, overseeing water and sewer work. Projects range in size and complexity, often taking us well beyond urban centres.

For more than 40 years, we’ve delivered civil construction projects across the province, with particular experience in coastal and remote environments. We’re growing, and we’re looking for someone who wants to take on responsibility and grow with us.

THE ROLE

You’ll oversee day-to-day site operations while keeping track of the broader project requirements. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning work and directing a small crew, with clear expectations for safety and workmanship.

  • Coordinating materials, equipment, and subcontractors so crews have what they need when they need it.

  • Reviewing drawings and project requirements, identifying potential issues, and finding practical solutions.

  • Monitoring schedules and costs, keeping accurate site records, and communicating progress.

  • Working with clients and suppliers to resolve questions and keep projects moving.

  • Taking a hands-on approach when the job calls for it.

  • M-F, 40-50 hours/week, project dependent.

WHAT YOU BRING

You have construction experience and a track record of managing crews or projects. You’re comfortable making decisions on site and understand how those decisions affect the budget and schedule. You can earn a crew’s respect, address problems directly, and maintain high standards under pressure.

Experience in civil construction, marine infrastructure, or water and sewer work would be an asset. Travel and work in remote locations are part of the role.

WHAT WE OFFER

Pay will reflect your experience and the responsibility you’re ready to take on, with performance incentives and room to grow as the company expands. We're a growing company and you can grow with us.

Make us an offer. Tell us about your experience, what you can bring to J & E, and the compensation you’re looking for. We’re open to a conversation with the right person.

Candidates must be located in Eastern Newfoundland, or willing to relocate. Projects through 2027 are concentrated on the Avalon Peninsula, but projects may scale across the province. Position will remain posted until filled.
